There is no stopping Mighty Mouth Matt. The man cannot stay off that fine line between gauchery and indictment. This time, Gaetz had an irrepressible urge to foment violence against anyone working in social media, or Silicon Valley, which is the snappier term.
“The internet’s hall monitors out in Silicon Valley, they think they can suppress us, discourage us,” he said yesterday at a rally co-hosted by gadabout Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). “Well, you know what? Silicon Valley can’t cancel this movement, or this rally, or this congressman. We have a Second Amendment in this country, and I think we have an obligation to use it.”
Gaetz said this the day after an angry man killed nine people, mostly people of color, in a mass shooting in San Jose, the biggest city in Silicon Valley.
Gaetz spoke in Georgia, but it was a clear call-out to angry men of the right wing who might live near Silicon Valley. Saying, in effect, "Go shoot those enemies of dictatorship!"
I hear that the technical term for this kind of thing is "pissing into the wind," but then, Gaetz really likes to stink. It's one way to get some attention.
Heck, it might be the only way to compete onstage with Marjorie Taylor Greene.
