1/30/21 "The Dude" of the Insurrection Turns Witness

Few of us in [this private Facebook group] are surprised to hear that Jacob Chansley of Phoenix, aka the QAnon Shaman, aka Jake Angeli -- The Dude of the insurrection -- has fallen out of love with Donald Trump and is now willing to testify against the former president to save his tattooed hide.

Chansley says he only went to DC because Trump asked his followers to go. His attorney, Al Watkins, says he was "horrendously smitten" with Trump.

Chansley's over it now. He fully expected Trump to pardon him and his fellow rioters after the fact, and is beginning to understand that he and they may have been used. Duped, even. Chansley uses the word "betrayed."

In response, Lindsey Graham tweeted, “I cannot think of a better way to turn the upcoming impeachment trial into a complete circus than to call the QAnon Shaman as a witness on anything,” as if he expects The Horned One to come to the Chamber shirtless and in full regalia.

But then, Graham knows what constitutes a circus, given his rhetorical gymnastics over time. If Chansley does give testimony, the disenchanted spear-carrier will be sitting up front in a business suit, looking sane. Meanwhile, Graham will be flip-flopping and hoppity-hopping as if he's still not sure what side he'll land on. At least that, almost certainly, is the truth.
