11/29/20: In Which Trump Hovers over Washington Like a Macy's Parade Balloon

So the Great Numbkin wants to run for President again in 2024. A couple of sycophants told him it was a great idea, one of them being Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State.

Is anyone surprised? Trump adores attention -- can't live without it -- and he knows just how to compel media coverage.

Now, rumors say that Trump will kick off the earliest presidential campaign in history by announcing his candidacy ON THE DAY OF BIDEN'S INAUGURATION.

Maybe Trump will announce in a rally in some well-heeled, Republican suburb of D.C. But that seems too tame.

He's more likely to helicopter to the Mall on Marine One by way of buzzing the inauguration stage, hovering above it, and taunting the F-16s, just before Biden takes the oath. Think of the suspense! People would think he really was going to launch a coup!

Or maybe Trump will drive past the Inauguration crowd in an SUV, roll down the window, stick out a bullhorn and bellow: "I'll be on this stage in four years! Believe it -- it's as good as Q-Anon!" Then he'll claim that the crowds celebrating the inauguration were all for HIM. Biggest crowd ever! Nobody ever had a crowd as big as Trump's campaign-launch crowd!

It's hard to know what Trump's thinking, because he operates from his viscera rather than his brain. We do know that there is no stunt too low. Next thing you know -- staying with the helicopter theme for now -- he might try to kill Bambi with an assault rifle from above. Oh! Wait! That's already been done, by Sarah Palin, arch-rival for most idiotic would-be veep since ... Dan Quayle, who said "What a waste it is to lose one's mind" to dignitaries of the Civil Rights Movement. Both Republicans, BTW.

Which is more likely, that Trump will flee to Russia before New York State gets him on fraud charges? Maybe he'll become a felon, so he won't even be able to vote! Or maybe once a month he'll roll through Washington, DC in a phalanx of golf carts, a doddering Trump Train for the elderly? Or maybe the Secret Service will convince him that public appearances are just too dangerous?

Whatever happens, we hope somebody bans Trump from Twitter. We can hope for that much.
